We are a few days into the school year and I would like to clarify a couple of things regarding snack. We have snack in the afternoon at about 2:10pm. It is a quick snack, sometimes a working snack. Please send in ONE item for snack. Some children are coming with a second lunch. This is not necessary. The item should be neat and easy to eat. Nothing that requires a spoon or fork, nothing liquid, nothing too messy. We have carpets in our room and we would like to keep them nice and clean! Crackers, cookies, fruits, veggies, dry cereal, raisins, etc. are all good choices. If your child needs a napkin, please send one in. Place the snack in a small zip lock bag if it is not in it's own wrapping and put it in the front zipper pocket of your child's back pack. It will be easy to find and it will not get mixed up with lunch. Drinks are not necessary for snack. Children may not have any types of water bottles with open tops in the classroom at all. We visit the water fountain 3 times a day as a class and of course the children drink at lunch. (If you feel your child needs more fluid than this, please send in a sports bottle container that is spill proof with water only, no juice. My hesitation with this is that the kids will be playing more with the water bottles and not paying attention to their work.)
If you have any other questions about snack time, please let me know and I will be happy to answer them for you. We are off to a great start of the school year. I am so thankful to have your children in my class.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path. - Proverbs 3:5-6
