Well, we are beginning our 4th and final quarter of this Kindergarten school year. I really cannot believe it! I am writing this post on yet another SNOW DAY! In December, it was EXCITING! In January, it was OK. In February, it was cold and starting to get old. Now that we are in March, and Spring is actually approaching, it is just too much! However, we will continue to adjust our days and our plans to accommodate the weather! As we recite in school:
Whether the weather is fine.
Or whether the weather is not.
Whether the weather is cold.
Or whether the weather is hot.
We'll whether the weather, whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not!
Our last quarter in school will be filled with some exciting field-trips, projects and more. We will finish up our Kindergarten Standards in Language Arts and Math and spend some time reviewing as well as getting a sneak peak into First Grade!
Our Standardized Tests will take place at the end of April, after Spring Break. We will send home more information as the time gets a little closer. It is important that the children are well rested and on time each day during testing week. If you have any questions about testing, please let me know. These will not be stressful tests for the children. It will be another "fun" activity in class! :)
At the end of March, our school will be hosting our first Scholastic Book Fair in conjunction with our school Art Show. Also during this time, there will be a Meet & Greet for any interested rising Kindergarten or First Grade students and their families. If you know of anyone who might be interested in attending, please share this information with them. The Meet & Greet will be on April 2 at 6:30 pm. I will be available to share curriculum, show the classroom and answer any questions.
Blessings to you all and let's hope this is our last snowstorm of the season! I am really looking forward to giving Spring a warm welcome!
